Connect WhatsApp

What the WhatsApp Business API needs, and what the 24-hour window means for your replies.

WhatsApp connects through the official Cloud API, so your number keeps its verified business identity and there is no risk of the bans that come with unofficial tools.

What you need first

  • A Facebook Business account that owns the phone number.
  • A number that is not currently registered on the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app.
  • Permission to manage the business from the Facebook account you sign in with.

Connecting

  1. Open Channels and choose WhatsApp.
  2. Sign in with Facebook and pick the business and the number.
  3. Ritmo subscribes to the number for you — there is no webhook URL to paste anywhere.

The 24-hour window

WhatsApp only lets a business send free-form text within 24 hours of the customer's last message. After that, only an approved template can be sent. Ritmo shows the remaining time on every conversation and switches the composer to templates when the window closes, so a reply never silently fails.
